Andreas Schumann is Chairman of the German Association of Courier-Express-Postal Services. Since 1990, the BdKEP has represented the trade policy interests of medium-sized entrepreneurs and companies in the courier, express, parcel and mail services’ sector and is the contact medium for politicians, ministries, authorities, the press and those interested in the industry. The industry currently generates sales of over EUR 27 billion with more than 500,000 employees. The BdKEP launched the initiative www.Open-Postal-Alliance.de and advocates open access for service providers to the postal market.
After studying agriculture and business administration, he founded one of the first city postal services in Germany when the postal monopoly was opened up in 1998. When Fiege Logistik AG took over the company, he built up the letter service of the Sächsische Zeitung Postmodern, which is still successful on the market today.
In 2001, he moved to EP Europost, now TNT Post GmbH & Co. KG, to Hanover. There he played a key role in shaping and building up the company's product and process landscape in various management positions, most recently as Quality Director. He founded internetPost AG in April 2010.
InternetPost AG has developed the web application www.safeaddress.de. With SAFE ADDRESS, consumers have a self-control over the use of their data with companies and institutions. In the context of consumer data protection, they can allow or prohibit companies from using their data, request information about the stored data or have it deleted. In the area of e-commerce, they can use the portal to specify locations for shipments when consumers are not at home.
